The Experimental Oncology is an English-language journal that publishes review articles, original contributions, short communications, case reports and technical advances presenting new data in the field of experimental and fundamental oncology. Manuscripts should be written in English, contain original work, which has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. It also implies the transfer of the Copyright from the author to “Experimental Oncology”. No part of journal publications may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means without the prior permission of the publisher.
The procedure of peer review
The peer-review process is based on the policy of confidentiality, equity, and uniformity.
After submission of the paper to the journal, firstly it undergoes Editorial Office Assessment. The Editor-in-Chief checks that the paper is appropriate for the journal in accordance with its topic, is original, and is written in good-quality English. The Editor-in-Chief has the right to decline papers which do not fit the journal profile, contain no new information or which scientific and methodological level is not satisfactory. In such a case, the paper may be rejected without being reviewed any further. If the paper is considered appropriate, it is directed to the Section Editor.
The Section Editor contacts available expert reviewers, and the paper is sent to at least two experts along with a special EO review form. The review of the manuscript, if possible, should be completed within 2 weeks. After completion, the review is then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation of acceptance of the manuscript, acceptance with minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The reviewers are asked to share the policy of confidentiality, objectivity, and avoid conflict of interest.
The Section Editor considers all the returned reviews, and if they differ principally, may invite the third reviewer for additional opinion before making a decision.
The final decision is made by the Deputy Editor based on the opinions of the reviewers and recommendations of the Section Editor. If the revision of the paper is required, the Deputy Editor recommends the reviewer for the resubmitted revised paper.
During the procedure of the reviewing, authors are informed about its details by e-mail. The comments of the reviewers of the EO are anonymous.
