ANTITUMOR EFFECT OF ACUTE HYPEROXIA
Effect of acute hyperoxia on growth of adenocarcinoma-755 (Ca-755) and Ehrlich carcinoma was examined. The exposure of tumor-bearing mice to normobaric atmosphere of oxygen or carbogen (95% O2 or 5% CO2 ) for 2 h inhibited the tumor growth. Tumor growth inhibition varied from 30% up to 98% depending on hyperoxia modes. The double hyperoxia treatment with two-day interval resulted in significant increase in lifetime of mice bearing Ca-755.
