With use of carbohydrate probes lectin-like receptors have been revealed on melanoma B16 and MCA sarcoma cell surface. Differences in range of carbohydrate receptors expressed on metastasizing melanoma B16 and nonmetastasizing MCA sarcoma cells have been shown. Various mono- and disaccharides have been demonstrated to influence malignant cell homotypic aggregation and adhesion in vitro in different way.
