ANTITUMOR AND IMMUNOMODULATING EFFECTS OF DRUG COMPOSITION BASED ON THIOPHOSPHORIC DERIVATIVES OF CELANDINE ALKALOIDS
Antitumor and antimetastatic effects of Ukrain, the drug prepared on the basis of thiophosphoric derivatives of celandine (Chelidonium majus L.) alkaloids, have been shown in Lewis carcinoma. Antimetastatic effect was manifested both in decrease of amount of lung metastases and in reduction of their volume suggesting that such a drug not only affects formation of new metastases but also inhibits the growth of the existing ones. Alongside with antitumor and antimetastatic effects such thiophosphoric derivatives of celandine alkaloids affected significantly the state in immune system. It was manifested in the improvement of endocrine thymic function, increasing serum IFN level, increasing adhesion of peritoneal macrophages, and in the increase of AOC in spleen. Besides of such an increase of functional activity of the immune system, the drug tested increased amount of lymphocytes, monocytes, and BGL in peripheral blood of mice with Lewis carcinoma. The obtained results show that antitumor and especially antimetastatic effect of the drug could be attributed to its immunomodulating properties.
