ACTIVITY OF POLY-(ADP-RIBOSE)-POLYMERASE AND PROTEINKINASE C IN HUMAN LARYNX CARCINOMA HEp-2 CELLS UPON THE ADMINISTRATION OF g-INTERFERON AND ALLOPURINOL

The human larynx carcinoma HEp-2 cells were treated with the human g-interferon and allopurinol. Decrease of poly-(ADP-ribose)-polymerase and protein kinase C activity was observed in the cells treated with g-interferon in combination with allopurinol. In the cells treated with g-interferon alone, poly-(ADP-ribose)-polymerase and protein kinase C activities increase was shown. In allopurinol treated cells no significant changes in poly-(ADP-ribose)-polymerase and protein kinase C activities were observed.
